NEW VIDEO

Songwriter Come Rain Come Shine

I’ve been holding onto for this video for "If I Were a Builder" for a while now, because I felt it deserved its own space in my album release plan.

The very first scenes were filmed all the way back in April 2023, and the last ones in July 2024. I filmed it myself using a tripod. I might have shot at around 30 different locations, most of which made it into the final film — edited by my clever film editor friend, Giusy Naitana. You can see the seasons changing across many different kinds of landscapes, some natural and others very urban. You could call my overall idea: “songwriter Come Rain Come Shine.”

I’m releasing it now partly because I remember that around this time last year, I was really keen on on catching the cherry blossom alley at Vestre Kirkegård  Cemetery in bloom — something I had missed in 2023.
My idea was to get a clip from out there, standing alone under the pink tree canopies. Even though I tried going early in the morning and again in the evening, it was, as you can see in the clip from there,  always crowded with people. That meant I had to change my strategy, and I ended up filming several scenes with people around me — including standing and filming in the middle of Strøget (Copenhagen's main shopping street).

Around this time last year, I also stood out in the middle of H.C. Andersen Boulevard and filmed. You can tell it’s April by the daffodils.
As you can see at the end of the video, I also stood shot some scene in snow and frost — and let me tell you, playing guitar in sub-zero temperatures is really cold!
